Bible verse

Psalm 126:5

Psalm 126:5

“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.”

Psalm 126:5 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

The image is a farmer scattering seed through tears, uncertain the ground will answer. God promises that grief poured out in faith is not wasted; it is planted, and a harvest of joy is coming. The tears themselves become part of the yield. This is the pattern of the cross, where the deepest sorrow bore the richest fruit. If you are sowing in sadness now, keep going. The One who counts every tear is preparing a reaping you will one day sing over.
