Bible verse
Psalm 145:18

“The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.”
What it means
God draws near to everyone who calls on Him honestly, without pretense or performance. He is not far from the sincere heart; He is as close as the whispered prayer. All He asks is truth, that we come as we really are. Through Christ the way to the Father stands open, and no cry offered in faith goes unheard. You do not need the right words or a worthy record. Call on Him plainly, and you will find Him already near.

Questions people ask
Where do I find Psalm 145:18?
It is in Psalm, in Psalm 145. Reading the whole chapter shows who is speaking, to whom, and why.
How can I pray Psalm 145:18?
Read it slowly once, then say it back to God in your own words, one phrase at a time. Stop on the phrase that stays with you and stay there. You can also ask the family of God on The Living Bread to pray it with you.
Pray this
Lord Christ, you love the people of Psalm 145:18 more than we can. We bring you Psalm 145:18, trust. Make us people who love one another there. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Live this
Three small things you can do this week.
- Read all of Psalm 145 today, not only the one verse.
- Write Psalm 145:18 where you will see it, and read it aloud at the start and end of the day.
- Tell one person what this verse means to you, and ask what verse has carried them.
Where this fits in the walk with Christ
Christ meets people in a place, and then walks on with them. Here are doors that walk on.
Read it, pray it, live it
On The Living Bread you can read the whole chapter, save this verse, ask Simon to explain it, pray it over your life, and share it with someone who needs it today.
