Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus of Nazareth lived two thousand years ago in the land of Israel. Christians believe He is far more than a great teacher: He is the Son of God, God Himself come among us in person, to make a way for us to be forgiven and to know God as Father. He taught with startling authority, welcomed the outcast, healed the sick, forgave sins, was crucified, and, Christians believe, rose bodily from the dead three days later.
What Jesus taught
Jesus announced the Kingdom of God, God’s good reign breaking into the world. He taught that the whole law hangs on two commands: love God with everything you are, and love your neighbor as yourself. He taught us to forgive, to pray, to trust our Father, and to find rest in Him. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Who is Jesus?
Christians believe Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who lived, taught, healed, was crucified, and rose from the dead. He is the promised Messiah, and Christians follow Him as Lord and Savior, the way to know God the Father.
Why is Jesus important?
Christians believe that in Jesus, God entered the world in person to rescue and restore humanity. His death and resurrection open the way to forgiveness, new life, and reconciliation with God for anyone who trusts in Him.
What did Jesus teach?
Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God, love for God and neighbor, forgiveness, humility, prayer, and grace for the broken. His best-known teaching is the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), and He often taught in parables.
What is the Gospel?

What is the resurrection?
Christians believe that three days after Jesus was crucified, God raised Him bodily from the dead, defeating death itself. The resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith and its hope of eternal life.
