The Types of Christ: The Shadows in the Old Testament That Point to Jesus

Long before Jesus was born, the Old Testament kept drawing His portrait in shadow: a lamb slain so a firstborn might live, bread that fell from heaven, a rock struck until water poured out, a serpent lifted up so the dying could look and live. The New Testament calls these a figure, a shadow, an example of the Christ who was to come, and again and again Jesus points back and says, this was about Me. This is not reading Jesus into places He is not. It is the pattern the Bible itself teaches: the shadow first, then the substance, which is Christ.
