Our mission, programs and services

Jesus Christ is why The Living Bread exists

The mission of The Living Bread is to help people meet Jesus Christ, the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again, and to gather them into His family, so that no one walks alone.

How this page is made and checked

This page is published by The Living Bread, a nonprofit Christian ministry headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Who we are is on our About page, and our registered details are on organization verification. It was last reviewed on 17 October 2026 against the sources below. Scripture is read from a stored, public domain text and cited, never typed from memory. Some of our content is AI-assisted and is held to a Scripture-grounded standard before it is published. If something here is wrong, write to support@living-bread.org and we will correct it; how we work and correct says how.

We are a nonprofit Christian ministry. Everything below is free, there are no ads, and we do not sell personal information. We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, that He loves every person on earth, and that He is alive and welcomes anyone who comes to Him. Our statement of faith says what we believe, and our About page says who we are.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 (KJV)

If you want to begin with Jesus today

You do not have to be good enough, informed enough or sure enough. Hear Jesus Himself, and then what the Bible says about calling on Him:

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 6:37 (KJV)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:9 (KJV)

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:13 (KJV)

If your heart is leaning toward Him, you can tell Him so, in your own words, right now. Then tell someone. We would be glad to pray with you and to help you take your next step.

How we bring people to Jesus, and then into His family

Six free programs, each built to lead a person toward Christ and then to carry them in His church.

Prayer: Ask, and someone will pray for you.

Anyone can ask the family of God to pray, with or without an account. Believers who have chosen to pray for a stranger take the request, and you are told plainly whether anyone has. Members pray together in rooms, leave short voice prayers, and say Amen to what others carry. Prayer is where most people first feel that Jesus is near.

Finding a church: Every follower of Jesus needs a family.

A free directory of churches around the world, mapped from open data, with a page for each church, a map, directions and the churches nearby, so that a new believer can find a place to belong. Pastors can claim their church's page at no cost and add service times.

The Word: Let Jesus speak for Himself.

A verse each morning, the whole Bible to read and search, reading plans, and the verses that meet a person in what they are carrying. Scripture is always read from a stored, public domain text and is never paraphrased and passed off as a quotation.

Serving real needs: Faith that reaches a neighbor.

A way to see real needs in a neighborhood and meet them in person, and a network of Christian ministries and nonprofits that serve people directly.

Serve · Ministries and nonprofits · Impact

Care and discipleship: Someone to talk to, and someone to walk with.

Believers who are available to talk, a daily calling that pairs two believers who have never met to pray and speak together, and two-by-two discipleship for those who want to follow Jesus more closely. People who ask for help are never left without an answer.

Community: Belong somewhere.

Communities and prayer groups people can join or start, gatherings and events near them, and a shared Table where a few believers sit down together online.

Standing with the persecuted church

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Hebrews 13:3 (KJV)

In many nations, following Jesus costs a person their job, their family, their freedom or their life. The Living Bread keeps a room called Remember the Chains, where members learn the stories of the regions where believers suffer, pray peace over them by name, fast with them, see where imprisoned believers wait for a letter, and stand with the watchers who pray through the night. We do this because the church is one body, and when one part suffers, we all do.

Ministries and nonprofits we stand with around the world

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 25:40 (KJV)

The Living Bread is also a home for Christian ministries, nonprofits and charities that serve people directly: feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, raising up children, planting churches, and speaking the gospel where it is needed most. Any Christian ministry or nonprofit can apply to join the Serve network. We look at who they are, publish their work and their open needs, and our members help them: with prayer, with giving, and in person. We do not pretend a need is met when it is not. See the live list on the ministries and nonprofits page, and the needs they carry on the Kingdom needs page.

One partner already in the network is Hope for a Good Life in Bugesera, Rwanda. If you lead a ministry or nonprofit anywhere in the world, you are welcome: start your ministry page.
