Bible verse

James 1:2

James 1:2

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;”

James 1:2 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

It sounds strange to welcome hard seasons, yet James is not asking us to enjoy pain. He is inviting us to trust what God is doing inside it. Trials test our faith and, over time, grow a patience and steadiness we could never gain in comfort. God wastes nothing. In Jesus, who suffered and rose, we see that the cross is never the end of the story. So when troubles pile up, you can lift your head, knowing your Father is shaping you and holding you through every one.
