Bible verse

Hebrews 12:2

Hebrews 12:2

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12:2 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Faith grows tired when we stare at our troubles, so this verse turns our eyes to Jesus. He began our faith and He will complete it; the whole journey rests on Him, not on our willpower. He endured the cross because He saw the joy of bringing many sons and daughters home, and now He reigns beside the Father. When you fix your gaze on Him, the burdens shrink and hope steadies. Keep looking to Christ, and He carries you the whole way through.
