Bible verse

Hebrews 12:1

Hebrews 12:1

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”

Hebrews 12:1 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

You are not the first to walk by faith. A great crowd of the faithful has finished the course before you, and their lives cheer you on. So lay down the weights that slow you and the sins that trip your feet, and keep moving with steady endurance. The race is not a sprint you win by force but a path you finish by trusting Jesus. He clears the way and gives strength for each mile, until you arrive home to the God who called you.
