Bible verse

1 Peter 2:9

1 Peter 2:9

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

1 Peter 2:9 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Whatever names the world or your own doubts have given you, God speaks a truer word over your life. In Christ you are chosen, set apart, and brought near as His own treasured people. He called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, not so you could hide, but so you could tell of the goodness that rescued you. Your identity is no longer based on your past or performance; it rests on what Jesus did to make you His. Live as who He says you are.
