Who Was Jeremiah?

In short

Jeremiah, the 'weeping prophet,' pleaded with a straying nation to return to God, even as they rejected and mistreated him. He was called before he was born and stayed faithful through deep sorrow.

Through his tears he carried a great promise: that God would make a new covenant, writing His law on the human heart.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.”
