Who Was Job?

In short

Job was a righteous man who, in a series of disasters, lost his children, his wealth, and his health, yet refused to curse God. His book wrestles honestly with the hardest question: why do the innocent suffer?

In the end, God did not give Job tidy answers, but Himself. Job met God face to face, and was comforted and restored.

“The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
