Revelation 21:4
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
What it means
John sees the end of the story, and it is astonishing tenderness. God Himself bends down to wipe away every tear. Death, grief, crying, and pain, the whole aching weight of this broken world, are gone for good. The old order passes and something wholly new begins. This is the hope Christ secured by His death and resurrection. However long the night of sorrow feels now, it has a limit. A day is coming when all is made well, forever.
