Bible verse

Hebrews 13:5

Hebrews 13:5

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Hebrews 13:5 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Contentment grows not from having more but from trusting the One who never leaves. The writer roots our freedom from greed in a promise God Himself spoke, that He will never abandon us. Money and possessions make poor anchors, but the presence of God holds firm. Because Christ has given us Himself, we already possess what matters most. When the fear of not enough creeps in, remember His word. The Giver stays even when the gifts feel thin.
