Bible verse

Psalm 56:3

Psalm 56:3

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”

Psalm 56:3 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Notice the honesty here: the writer does not pretend courage he does not feel. Fear comes, and in the very moment of dread he turns and leans his weight on God. Trust is not the absence of fear but the direction we lean while afraid. Jesus knew our terrors and never once let them pull Him from the Father. When anxiety rises, you can do this small brave thing again and again, handing your fear to the One who holds you and will not let go.
