Bible verse

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Isaiah 41:10 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Four promises against fear: I am with you, I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will hold you up. Fear loses its grip when you remember whose hand is holding yours.

Questions people ask

Where do I find Isaiah 41:10?

It is in Isaiah, in Isaiah 41. Reading the whole chapter shows who is speaking, to whom, and why.

Readers most often set it beside Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 43:1-2, Romans 8:31, Deuteronomy 31:6-8. Each is listed under Read it in context.

How can I pray Isaiah 41:10?

Read it slowly once, then say it back to God in your own words, one phrase at a time. Stop on the phrase that stays with you and stay there. You can also ask the family of God on The Living Bread to pray it with you.

Pray this

Father, you are already present in Isaiah 41:10, before any of us arrive. We bring you Isaiah 41:10, fear. Teach us to love one another, as you have loved us. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Live this

Three small things you can do this week.

  1. Read all of Isaiah 41 today, not only the one verse.
  2. Write Isaiah 41:10 where you will see it, and read it aloud at the start and end of the day.
  3. Tell one person what this verse means to you, and ask what verse has carried them.

Where this fits in the walk with Christ

Christ meets people in a place, and then walks on with them. Here are doors that walk on.

Read it, pray it, live it

On The Living Bread you can read the whole chapter, save this verse, ask Simon to explain it, pray it over your life, and share it with someone who needs it today.
