Bible verse

2 Timothy 1:7

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Fear can shrink us and silence what God wants to say through our lives. But the Spirit God has given is not a spirit of timidity. He fills us instead with power, love, and a sound, steady mind. When anxiety whispers that you are too weak, remember whose Spirit lives in you. Jesus faced the cross with unflinching love and now shares His courage with all who belong to Him. You can step forward, speak up, and love boldly, drawing on a strength that is not your own but His.
