How these verses point to Christ
All the centuries of Israel's waiting were answered when Christ came in the fullness of time. He has now gone ahead of us, and we wait for His return with the same patient hope. Because He has already kept His word once, we can trust the appointed time for everything still promised. Waiting on God is finally waiting on Christ, who will surely come and will not tarry.
