What does the Bible say about perseverance? That we are to keep going, not grow weary in doing good, and run our race with patience, for the reward is sure. Galatians 6:9, James 1:12, Hebrews 12:1 are among the clearest passages.

At the end of a hard life Paul can say he fought the fight and kept the faith, which encourages us to endure to our own finish line.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

We are called to be steadfast and immovable because our labor in the Lord is never wasted.

This verse reminds us that patient endurance is exactly what we need to receive what God has promised.

In all these hardships we are more than conquerors through the One who loved us, so perseverance rests on Christ's strength.

Those who wait on the Lord have their strength renewed, so that they can keep going without fainting.

This verse calls us to run the race with the focused effort of one determined to finish and win.
How these verses point to Christ
These verses are not slogans to prop yourself up. Every true word the Bible speaks about perseverance finds its yes in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). He is where perseverance, rightly understood, was always leading; come to Him and receive what no verse alone can give.
