Bible verse

Psalm 118:24

Psalm 118:24

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalm 118:24 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Every day is a gift you did not build, handed to you fresh from the hands of God. Even ordinary mornings and hard ones carry this quiet dignity, that the Maker chose to make them. Choosing gladness is not pretending everything is fine, it is remembering who authored the hours. Christians have long read this as pointing to the greatest day, the one the risen Christ opened when death was undone. Whatever today holds, it is His making, and there is room in it to rejoice.
