Bible verse

Psalm 121:1

Psalm 121:1

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.”

Psalm 121:1 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

A traveler looks up at the high hills, unsure whether they hide danger or hold rescue, and asks the honest question, where does help come from. The answer, unfolding through the rest of this song, is that it comes from the Maker of those very hills. Our help was never in the scenery but in the One who set it there. In Christ that help drew near and took our nature, a keeper who neither sleeps nor slumbers. Lift your eyes today past the trouble to the God above it.
