Bible verse

Psalm 143:8

Psalm 143:8

“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.”

Psalm 143:8 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

This is a morning prayer, asking to hear love before the day's noise begins and to know which way to walk before the choices crowd in. It lifts the whole self toward God at the start, trusting Him for both affection and direction. There is something restful in beginning here rather than striving. In Christ the lovingkindness we ask to hear has a face and a voice, one who leads His own like a shepherd. Give Him the first of your morning, and let Him set the day's course.
