Bible verse

Proverbs 18:10

Proverbs 18:10

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”

Proverbs 18:10 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Picture a runner sprinting for the safety of a fortress with the danger close behind, and the fortress is not a place but a name, the name of the Lord. To trust that name is to find walls that no trouble can breach. Safety here is nearer than a building, it is a Person you can call on. Christians run into the name of Jesus, the name at which every knee will bow, and find refuge there. When the day threatens to overwhelm you, run toward Him.
