Bible verse

Numbers 6:24

Numbers 6:24

“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:”

Numbers 6:24 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

This ancient blessing is God putting His own good will over His people in words. To be blessed by Him is to be given His favor; to be kept is to be guarded and held. It is a picture of a Father who wants nearness and protection for His children. These words have been spoken over the faithful for thousands of years, and they still carry His heart. In Christ the blessing comes near, for He is God with us, keeping those who are His and never letting them slip from His hand.
