Bible verse

Nahum 1:7

Nahum 1:7

“The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”

Nahum 1:7 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

In a book full of warning, this line shines like a shelter. God is good, and when trouble comes He is a strong place to hide. He is not a stranger to those who lean on Him; He knows them personally, by name. Hard days test what we truly rely on, and this verse points us to a refuge that holds. Jesus is that stronghold in the flesh, the One who invites the weary to come to Him. To trust Him is to be known and kept in the day of trouble.
