Broken bread and a cup glowing in warm sacred light.

Bible verse

Luke 1:37

Luke 1:37

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

Luke 1:37 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Spoken to a young woman told she would bear the Son of God, these words assure her that nothing lies beyond God's power. What seems unthinkable to us is simple to him. The One who spoke worlds into being and would soon be born into ours holds every promise and every impossibility in his hands. When your situation feels closed and hopeless, this is the ground to stand on: the God of the empty tomb has never yet met something he could not do.
