Bible verse

Mark 11:24

Mark 11:24

“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Mark 11:24 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Jesus encourages bold, believing prayer, trusting that what we ask according to God's will is already granted. This is not magic that bends God to our wishes but confidence resting in a Father who is good and able. Faith like this is anchored in his character, not in the strength of our feelings. As we pray, we learn to want what he wants, and to rest in the One who gave his own Son and will surely give every good thing we truly need.
