Bible verse

Matthew 19:26

Matthew 19:26

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

The disciples were stunned, wondering who then could be saved. Jesus lifts their eyes from human limits to divine power: what people can never accomplish, God can. Salvation was never something we could earn or engineer; it is his gift and his doing. When you face what looks utterly impossible, whether a hardened heart, a broken situation, or your own weakness, remember that the God who raises the dead specializes in the impossible and has already done the greatest of them at the cross.
