A Prayer for Wisdom
There are decisions that keep you up at night, forks in the road where every option carries a cost and no one can tell you the right answer. A job to take or leave, a relationship to pursue or end, a hard call about a child, a parent, a move, a money choice with no clean solution. You have made your lists of pros and cons, asked everyone you trust, and still you do not know. A prayer you can pray
Father, I have a decision in front of me that I do not know how to make, and I am tired of turning it over. I need wisdom that is beyond my own. You promise that if I lack wisdom I can ask You, and that You give generously and without scolding me for asking, so I am asking. Help me to see this clearly, past my fears and my wants and my blind spots. Show me what I am missing. Give me an understanding heart to weigh what matters and let go of what does not. Where I am leaning on my own understanding, teach me to trust Yours. Guard me from choices made in a rush or in fear. Make Your way plain enough that I can walk in it. And give me the humility to follow the wisdom You give, even when it is not what I wanted to hear. In the name of Jesus, amen.
