Father, You call me to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You, and today that felt like more than I could carry. Give me wisdom for decisions where there is no easy right answer, and courage to advocate for the ones who have no voice. Help me see each person on my caseload as You see them, not as a number or a file. Where I cannot fix the brokenness, let me at least bring dignity and kindness. How do I keep compassion alive when I see so much suffering?
Constant exposure to suffering pushes anyone toward numbness, and guarding against it takes intention.
