A Prayer for a Baptism
A baptism is a visible line drawn between an old life and a new one. Father, thank You for this day and for the grace that brought us here. Baptism pictures being buried with Christ and raised to walk in newness of life, and we ask that this would be no empty symbol but a living reality. For the one being baptized today, seal what You have begun. Let them truly put on Christ, clothed in Him, belonging to Him. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and give them courage to follow Jesus openly for the rest of their life. Surround them with a church family that will help them keep this promise. Where the road ahead is hard, hold them fast, and remind them whose they are. Thank You for making all things new. Let this be the beginning of a whole life turned toward You. In Jesus name, amen.
