The Wise and Foolish Builders

One house stood in the storm, one fell, and the difference was the foundation. (Matthew 7:24-27, King James Version (public domain))

A wise man builds his house on rock; a foolish man builds on sand. When the rains and floods come, the house on rock stands and the house on sand collapses.

What it means

Jesus ends the Sermon on the Mount with a choice: not just hearing His words but doing them. Obedience is the rock beneath a life that can weather any storm. What you build on is revealed only when the storm comes.
