The Talents
Faithfulness with what you were given, not how much. (Matthew 25:14-30, King James Version (public domain))
A master entrusts three servants with different sums before a journey. Two invest and double what they were given; the third buries his in fear. On return, the master honors the faithful and grieves the one who did nothing with what he had.
What it means
God gives each of us something real, gifts, time, opportunity, and asks us to put it to work for His Kingdom. The sin here is not failure but burying, playing it safe out of fear. Faithfulness, not size, is what He commends.
