The Wheat and the Tares
Good and evil grow together until the harvest. (Matthew 13:24-30, King James Version (public domain))
A man sows good wheat, but an enemy sows weeds among it. The servants want to pull the weeds; the owner says wait, lest the wheat be uprooted too, and let both grow until the harvest, when they will be separated.
What it means
Jesus is honest that good and evil grow side by side in the world, and even in the church, for now. Judgment belongs to God at the right time, not to us in our impatience. Our task is to be wheat.
