The Pearl of Great Price

A merchant sells everything for one perfect pearl. (Matthew 13:45-46, King James Version (public domain))

A merchant searching for fine pearls finds one of surpassing value, and joyfully sells all that he has to buy it.

What it means

The Kingdom, and Christ Himself, is worth everything you have. This is not a grim sacrifice but a glad trade: the merchant sells all with joy, because he has found the one thing worth more than the rest combined.
