Bible verse

Romans 12:1

Romans 12:1

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

Romans 12:1 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

In view of all God's mercy, Paul urges us to offer our whole selves to Him as a living sacrifice. True worship is not confined to songs on Sunday; it is your daily life handed over, your body and choices given to God. This is reasonable, even beautiful, once you see what Christ gave for you. He offered Himself completely, so we respond by offering ourselves back. Lay down your life not out of dread but gratitude, and let ordinary days become holy worship to the One who saved you.
