John 8:36
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
What it means
Jesus promises a freedom that goes deeper than any earthly liberty. When the Son sets us free, we are free indeed, released from the grip of sin, shame, and every old chain. This is not freedom to do whatever we want, but freedom to become who we were made to be, alive to God. No habit or history is stronger than His liberating power. What He frees, He frees for good. In Christ we stop striving to earn release and simply receive the freedom only He can give.
