Bible verse

John 13:35

John 13:35

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

John 13:35 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Jesus tells us that the mark of His followers is not our arguments or achievements but our love for one another. The watching world recognizes Him in how we treat each other, with patience, forgiveness, and genuine care. This love is not a nice add-on; it is our witness. When believers love sacrificially, people glimpse the Savior who loved first. We cannot manufacture this on our own, so we draw it from Him. As Christ's love flows through us to each other, His presence becomes visible to all.
