Bible verse

Ezekiel 36:26

Ezekiel 36:26

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”

Ezekiel 36:26 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

God promises to replace a hard, stony heart with one soft and alive, and to put His Spirit within. This is not self-improvement but a gift only He can give, the inward change we cannot manufacture. It is the new birth Jesus spoke of and the transformation His Spirit still works. When our own efforts to be better fail, this is the hope: God Himself renews us from the inside. Ask Him for the new heart He delights to give, and He will.
