Bible verse

Zechariah 4:6

Zechariah 4:6

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Zechariah 4:6 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

The work of God is done not by human muscle or cleverness but by His Spirit. This frees us from the crushing pressure to accomplish everything on our own strength. What looks impossible becomes possible when we depend on Him rather than ourselves. Jesus taught the same, that apart from Him we can do nothing, but joined to Him we bear real fruit. Lay down the exhausting effort to force outcomes, and lean on the Spirit who supplies what we lack.
