A Prayer for Revival
Something in you is longing for more. Maybe your own faith has gone dry and dutiful, the fire down to embers. Father, revive us again. I feel how dry things have become, in the world, in the church, in my own heart, and I am hungry for You to move. I have heard of the great things You have done, and I ask You to do them again in my time. In the midst of these years, make Yourself known; in wrath, remember mercy. Pour water on the thirsty ground of my life and on a thirsty generation; pour out Your Spirit where hearts have grown hard and hope has run thin. Start the revival in me. Search me, break up the dry ground of my own soul, and set me on fire again with love for You and for people. Let Your people humble themselves and seek Your face, and heal us. Come, Lord. In the name of Jesus, amen.
