Who Was Elijah?

In short

Elijah was a bold prophet who stood alone against the prophets of Baal and called Israel back to the true God. God answered him with fire, and cared for him when he was afraid and exhausted.

In his lowest moment, Elijah heard God not in wind or earthquake or fire, but in a still small voice.

“And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”
