God’s Promises for Your Children

God promises to be faithful to the generations, to hear your prayers for your children, and to hold them in a love greater than your own.

Parents carry deep hopes and fears for their children. God meets them with promises: He cares for the little ones, He teaches and gives them peace, and He is faithful to a thousand generations.

You cannot control your children's hearts, but you can entrust them to the God who loves them even more than you do, and who hears every prayer you pray over them.

What God promises, in His own words

“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.”

Isaiah 54:13 · King James Version (public domain)

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Proverbs 22:6 · King James Version (public domain)

“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

Acts 2:39 · King James Version (public domain)

“Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.”

Deuteronomy 7:9 · King James Version (public domain)

How this points to Jesus

Jesus gathered children into His arms and blessed them, and He still welcomes them today. Every promise for your children is anchored in Him, who loves them with an everlasting love. You can place them in the pierced hands that will never let them go.
