God’s Promises for Provision

God promises to provide for His children like a Father who knows your needs and a Shepherd who leaves you wanting for nothing.

The Bible pictures God as a shepherd who provides green pastures and still waters. He knows what you need before you ask, and He promises to supply it.

As you seek Him first, He pledges to add what you need. Provision may not always look like abundance, but it will always be enough, for He is faithful.

What God promises, in His own words

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Psalm 23:1 · King James Version (public domain)

“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Matthew 6:31-33 · King James Version (public domain)

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19 · King James Version (public domain)

“And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.”

Genesis 22:14 · King James Version (public domain)

How this points to Jesus

Jesus fed the hungry crowds and called Himself the bread of life. Every promise of provision is guaranteed in Him, through whom God gives us all things. The Father who did not spare His own Son can be trusted to provide all we truly need.
