Bible verse

John 8:12

John 8:12

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

John 8:12 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Jesus offers himself as the light no darkness can outlast. To follow him is to stop stumbling in confusion and shame and to walk a path lit from within by the very life of God. He does not merely point out the way; he is the brightness that leads us. Wherever you feel lost or blind, his invitation stands: come after me, and you will never again grope alone in the dark, for the light you need is a Person who loves you.
