Bible verse

Ephesians 6:12

Ephesians 6:12

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6:12 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

The real conflict behind our frustrations is not with the people who hurt us but with spiritual powers of darkness. Seeing this changes how we fight, turning us from anger at flesh and blood toward prayer, truth, and dependence on God. We do not face these forces in our own might. Jesus already disarmed the powers of darkness at the cross and rose victorious over them. Clothed in His strength and armor, you stand secure, resting in a triumph He has already won on your behalf.
