Who Was the Centurion Whose Faith Amazed Jesus?

In short

The centurion was a Roman officer who came to Jesus on behalf of his suffering servant. He believed Jesus could heal with just a word, without even coming to his house.

Such trust astonished Jesus, who said He had not found so great a faith in all Israel, and the servant was healed that very hour.

“When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”
