What Does the Bible Say About Rest?
The Bible presents rest as a gift and a command: God built rest into creation and invites the weary to find true rest in Him.
From the seventh day of creation, God wove rest into the fabric of life. Rest is an act of trust, laying down the illusion that everything depends on us and remembering that God sustains the world while we sleep.
Deeper than physical rest is the rest Jesus offers the soul. He invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him, promising a rest that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

How this points to Jesus
Jesus is our rest. He finished the work of salvation so that we can stop striving to save ourselves, and simply trust Him. In Him the soul finds its true Sabbath, a settled peace that does not depend on our circumstances. Come to Him, and He will give you rest.
