What Does the Bible Say About the Sabbath?
The Bible gives the Sabbath as a gift of rhythm and rest, one day set apart to cease striving, worship God, and remember that we are not machines.
God commanded a weekly rest not to burden us but to bless us. Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, freeing it from legalism while honoring its purpose: to stop, to worship, and to trust God with what we set down.
The Sabbath teaches us that our worth is not in our productivity. Once a week we lay down our work and remember that God is the one who holds the world together, and we are invited to rest in Him.

How this points to Jesus
Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, and He is the true rest every Sabbath pointed toward. In Him we cease from trying to earn God's favor, for He has secured it. Every seventh day of rest is a small picture of the eternal rest we have in Christ, who finished the work we never could.
