What Does the Bible Say About Gratitude?
The Bible calls us to give thanks in everything, not because every circumstance is good, but because God is good and at work in all of them.
Gratitude is a posture of the heart that recognizes every good gift comes from God. Scripture ties thanksgiving to peace: when we bring our requests to God with thanksgiving, His peace guards our hearts.
We are told to give thanks in all circumstances, which is not the same as for all circumstances. Even in hardship we can be grateful for who God is and what He has promised, and gratitude reshapes how we see everything.

How this points to Jesus
The greatest reason for gratitude is Jesus Himself, God's indescribable gift. On the night He was betrayed He gave thanks, even facing the cross. In Him we have received forgiveness, adoption, and eternal life, gifts we could never repay. A thankful heart is simply a heart that remembers what He has done.
