What Does the Bible Say About Honesty?
The Bible calls us to truthfulness in word and deed, because God is a God of truth and delights in those who deal honestly.
Scripture says the Lord delights in those who are truthful and detests lying lips. Honesty is not just about avoiding falsehood but about living with integrity, being the same person in the dark as in the light.
Speaking the truth in love, keeping our word, and dealing fairly reflect God's own faithful character. Honesty may cost us in the short term, but it builds a life that can stand.

How this points to Jesus
Jesus said, I am the truth, and no deceit was found in His mouth. He calls His followers to walk in the light as He is in the light. His Spirit within us grows a love for the truth, freeing us from the tangled weight of pretense so we can live openly and honestly before God and others.
